EDpuzzle.com is a online site that provides teachers with a way to pose questions to students around the educational videos they are watching. This is GREAT for a flipped classroom approach to learning and professional developement. There are several sources of video you can directly pull from: YouTube, TeacherTube, Khan Academy, Learn Zillion, National Geographic, etc. Then simply crop the video (optional), add questions, audio notes, audio tracks and save it. Create a classroom to assign the video as an assignment. Students do not need an email to sign up - only a username and a classroom code (similar to Edmodo). Teachers can track the progress of students as they answer the questions. Also, kids can't skip or fast forward through the video with EdPuzzle. Hee hee! Love it!
Pixteller.com is a wonderfully simple (and FREE) site to create graphics based posters and quotes in under a minute. You can start from one of Pixteller's templates or create your own from scratch by uploading an image (or a solid color), adding text and icons, and you're done! Using simple visuals like the ones that can be generated on this site are great for grabbing the audience's attention versus having a slide of bulleted points of text.
Canva.com allows users to create dynamic posters online from simple templates. There are many options to choose from for designing the posters, more than I have seen from any site: poster, blog graphic, presentation, When you publish the poster, real estate, social media layouts are all available. You can choose to allow others to edit the poster making it a collaborative experience when you publish your graphic. Add links for to websites within the graphic, and download as a PDF (interactive) or PNG.
