Hannah Rouzee, special education teacher at BCMS, discovered a great way to use Guided Access with her students when accessing a website through the Chrome or Safari app on their iPads. With the use of Guided Access, she can disable the address bar within the browser so students can't navigate to a different webpage, even if they open a new tab.
When you start guided access to lock a student into the app, you have the option to circle part of the screen that you want disabled. Circle the address bar. When guided access starts, it will not be functional. To remove this feature, triple-click the home button, enter your password, and click the small "X" showing the selected area around the address bar to remove it.
